WorkSmartMoney is designed so you can use its calculators without creating an account. This privacy notice explains what information may be processed when you use the website, why it is processed and the choices available to you.

Who operates WorkSmartMoney?

WorkSmartMoney is an independent UK website. If you have a question about this privacy notice or how information is handled, you can contact WorkSmartMoney through the contact page.

Calculator information

Information such as salary, working hours, pension contributions, tax code and freelance rates may be entered so that WorkSmartMoney can perform the calculation you request and return a result.

WorkSmartMoney does not currently provide user accounts or saved calculator profiles. Calculator inputs are not intended to be used to build a personal financial profile or saved for you between visits.

Google Analytics

WorkSmartMoney uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the website. This helps identify which pages and calculators are being used, how visitors find the site and how the website can be improved.

Analytics information may include details such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, general location information, traffic source and how you interact with the website.

Analytics is used to understand overall website usage and performance rather than to identify you personally. Where consent is required, analytics storage is controlled by the choices you make through the website's consent controls.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Advertising is currently disabled on WorkSmartMoney. We may use Google AdSense in future to support the website.

Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure and personalise advertisements. Google's use of advertising cookies may allow Google and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to WorkSmartMoney and other websites.

Depending on your consent choices and applicable privacy rules, advertising may be personalised or non-personalised. Third-party advertising providers may also use technologies such as cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers in connection with ad serving and measurement.

You can manage how Google personalises advertising through Google Ads Settings.

Advertising helps support the cost of running and developing WorkSmartMoney while keeping the calculators and guides free to use.

Cookies and consent

Analytics cookies are declined until you allow them in our analytics banner. Your choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Google may receive cookieless measurements when analytics storage is declined. The calculators work without accepting optional cookies.

Analytics choices control analytics storage through Google Consent Mode and do not grant advertising consent. Advertising choices are managed separately by Google's consent message when available.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your analytics choice. When Google's consent service is available, Advertising privacy settings reopens its advertising consent message.

Why information is processed

Where consent is required for analytics or advertising technologies, WorkSmartMoney relies on your consent. You can withdraw that consent using the privacy controls available on the website.

Limited technical information may also be processed where necessary to operate, secure, maintain and deliver the website.

Technical information

The website may process basic technical information required to operate, secure and deliver the site. This can include information such as your browser, device, network requests, IP address and diagnostic information.

Third-party services

WorkSmartMoney uses third-party services to operate and improve the website. These currently include services for website hosting, analytics, advertising and site performance.

These providers may process technical or usage information in accordance with their own privacy policies and the privacy choices you make when visiting WorkSmartMoney.

How long information is kept

WorkSmartMoney keeps personal and usage information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating, securing and improving the website and meeting applicable legal obligations.

Information processed by third-party services such as Google may be retained according to the retention settings and policies of those services.

Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights relating to your personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

If you have concerns about how your personal information is handled, please contact WorkSmartMoney first. You also have the right to raise a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Changes to this notice

This privacy notice may change as WorkSmartMoney develops and new features or services are introduced. The latest version published on this page will describe how the site currently handles information.
